Design Project Highlight
2024 IBCF Through the Looking Glass Gala
This year’s theme for the IBCF Through the Looking Glass Gala was racing! For the visuals, I started with brainstorming how to take iconic racing imagery and elevate it. An abstract black and white flag design set the tone for the rest of the assets, alongside gold accents. One of my favorite pieces was the invitation. I designed a custom die-line using the flag motif to make it look like the flags were “waving” as you opened them.
The logo had a black and white version, and could be adapted for size.
This was the white, social variation of the logo. It was important to keep the logo flexible since we had quite a variation of things to put it on.

This screen shot shows how the program began. All of the copy and order were sent to me in a document, then I laid it out in Illustrator.

Another piece of racing imagery we used was the laurel wreath in the same treatment as the flag.
